David Tennant's first appearance as Doctor Who was in the final episode of Christopher Ecclestone's only series, as the Doctor regenerated. He then appeared in a "mini–episode" during the Children in Need broadcast, and his first full episode was the 2005 Christmas special. The first series in which he starred as the Doctor was in 2006.
